Overview
She & the Tea Mountain is a long-term cross-border cultural research, documentary, and digital archive project centered on the women of Jingmai Mountain in Yunnan, China.
Supported by the British Council’s Connections Through Culture programme, the project brings together collaborators across China and the UK and explores how local knowledge, women’s lived experience, tea culture, ecological practices, and cultural memory can be documented, interpreted, structured, and transmitted in the digital age.
At its core, the project focuses on the women whose everyday lives sustain the cultural landscape of Jingmai Mountain.
Their knowledge is embedded not only in tea cultivation, craft, music, and ecological practice, but also in family structures, oral memory, labor, language, and long-term relationships with the land.
Rather than approaching cultural heritage as a static object to be preserved, She & the Tea Mountain treats culture as a living system—something continually practiced, negotiated, remembered, and passed on through people.
The project therefore operates across four connected layers:
CONTENT → KNOWLEDGE → DATA → TECHNOLOGY
Its central question is simple:
How can technology help preserve culture without removing the human context that gives it meaning?

《她与茶山》是一项跨越中国与英国的长期文化研究、纪录影像与数字档案项目，以云南景迈山女性为核心研究对象。
项目获得 British Council — Connections Through Culture 支持，由中英两地研究者与合作伙伴共同推进，围绕女性经验、茶文化、地方知识、生态实践与文化记忆，探索这些知识在数字时代如何被记录、理解、组织并继续传递。
项目关注的并不仅仅是“茶”或“非遗”本身，而是那些真正使文化持续发生的人。
景迈山女性的知识存在于茶叶种植、手工艺、音乐与生态实践中，也存在于家庭关系、口述记忆、劳动经验、语言以及人与土地长期形成的关系之中。
因此，《她与茶山》并不把文化遗产视为一个静态的、等待保存的对象，而是将文化理解为一个持续被人实践、协商、记忆与传递的活态系统。
项目同时尝试建立一套新的数字档案方法，将：
人的理解 + 结构化数据 + AI 辅助工具
结合起来。
在研究过程中，团队还自主开发了一套视频—文本协同校对系统，将影像、转写文本、时间码、人名、地名、术语和语境备注整合到同一个协作空间中，提高文化资料整理、校对和多人协作效率。
因此，《她与茶山》不仅是一个纪录片或文化研究项目，也在尝试建立一套新的文化知识整理方式：

项目最核心的问题是：
技术如何帮助我们保存文化，同时不丢失赋予文化意义的人的经验、记忆与语境？

Overview 项目概述
The An Jing Observation Program (AJOP) is a long-term independent art research and fieldwork initiative founded by An Jing in Wuhan in 2015.
The project documents artists and the evolving contemporary art ecology of inland China through studio visits, interviews, photography, video, and independent research.
Rather than treating Wuhan simply as a geographic location, AJOP looks at how artistic practices are shaped by local environments, personal histories, mobility, and changing cultural conditions.
At its core, the project asks a simple question:
How does where we live shape how we make, think, and understand art?
安静观察计划（AJOP） 是安静于 2015 年在武汉发起的长期独立艺术研究与田野调查项目。
项目通过艺术家工作室访问、访谈、摄影、影像记录与独立研究，持续记录中国内陆地区艺术家的创作实践，以及不断变化的当代艺术生态。
项目并不只把武汉视为一个地理位置，而更关注地方环境、个人经历、流动与社会文化变化如何影响艺术家的创作方式。
项目始终围绕一个核心问题展开：

The project gradually builds a record of artistic practices that are often less visible within dominant narratives of contemporary Chinese art.

Observation Archive 观察档案
With the consent of participating artists, AJOP has developed an evolving archive of interviews, images, videos, artist information, and research materials.
The archive functions as both documentation and a research tool, allowing individual artistic practices to be viewed within a broader regional and historical context.
Selected materials have been presented through exhibitions, screenings, publications, talks, and collaborative projects.
在参与艺术家的授权下，AJOP 持续建立由人物访谈、图像、影像、艺术家资料与研究材料构成的动态档案。
这些资料既作为项目记录，也作为持续研究的基础，使个体艺术实践能够被放置在更广泛的地区与历史语境中重新理解。

AJOP – LIMIAO 10:30 is a collaborative project developed by An Jing with artist Tao Siqi in Wuhan.
Centered on a specific moment—10:30 AM—the work observes everyday rhythms, domestic space, and the subtle relationship between time, routine, and place.
Blurring documentary observation and poetic narration, the work extends AJOP’s interest in local experience and everyday life as sources of artistic research.
The project was presented at Wuhan K11 Art Mall.
AJOP – LIMIAO 10:30 是安静与艺术家陶思琪在武汉共同完成的影像合作项目。
作品围绕一个具体的时间点——上午 10:30——展开，通过对日常生活、居住空间与城市节奏的观察，探索时间、惯常行为与地方经验之间细微的关系。
作品游走于纪实观察与诗性叙事之间，也是“安静观察计划”将日常生活与地方经验作为艺术研究素材的一次延伸。
项目曾于武汉 K11 Art Mall 展出。

Rather than attempting to define a generation or region through a single narrative, AJOP builds knowledge gradually through repeated encounters, conversations, and documentation.
