An Jing is an artist, cultural researcher, and cross-cultural project practitioner whose work spans contemporary art, field research, digital humanities, and international cultural collaboration.

Her practice has developed across China and the UK through independent artistic research, exhibitions, cultural projects, institutional collaborations, and long-term documentation initiatives.

She holds an MA in Digital Humanities from King’s College London and a BFA in Oil Painting from Hubei Institute of Fine Arts.

Across her work, she combines artistic sensitivity with research, project development, and cross-cultural coordination, with a particular interest in cultural memory, local knowledge, documentation, and the ways in which technology reshapes cultural production and preservation.

安静是一名艺术家、文化研究者与跨文化项目实践者,实践横跨当代艺术、田野研究、数字人文及国际文化合作。

她的工作经历连接中国与英国,涵盖独立艺术研究、展览、文化项目、机构合作及长期文化记录计划。

安静拥有伦敦国王学院数字人文硕士学位,以及湖北美术学院油画专业学士学位。

她的实践将艺术感知、研究、项目构建与跨文化协作结合起来,长期关注文化记忆、地方知识、文化记录,以及技术如何重新塑造文化生产与保存方式。

Long-term cultural research and digital archive project focused on women, local knowledge, tea culture, cultural memory, and emerging archival technologies in Jingmai Mountain, Yunnan.

Cultural & Cross-Border Projects

Jun2024, The Time Machine – Shanghai International Film Festival

Supervised the domestic launch of The Time Machine, a documentary co-produced by Elephant House Studios, Eying (Shanghai) Pictures, and Youku. The film premiered in the “Voices of China” section and follows artist Ma Liang and the creation of Papa’s Time Machine. Previously awarded Best Cinematography (Tribeca), Best Documentary (CAAMFest), and Grand Jury Prize (LAAPFF).

Oct 2017, Office of Public Works (Ireland)
Directed China-side execution of the “Beyond the Three Perfections” exhibition at Dublin Castle (2017), featuring poetry by Irish President Michael D. Higgins. Collaborated with curator Emily de Wolfe Pettit and the Office of Public Works.

Jul 2017, The Juilliard School & Aurora Museum (Shanghai)
Executive Director for The Sound of Baroque, a landmark collaboration between Juilliard faculty and the Aurora Museum in Shanghai .

Mar 2017, UNESCO & Global Cultural Interlink (New York) 
Strategic planning assistant (China-based) as cultural assistant to Hans d’Orville (Strategic Planning Assistant Director-General, UNESCO) and Mehri Madarshahi (President, Global Cultural Interlink), supporting the planning and execution of multiple China-based cultural initiatives.

Apr 2016, Ding Yi Artist Studio (Hubei Museum of Art)

Supported the production of Ding Yi’s solo exhibition Re-apppearnce of Crosses: Ding Yi in Wuhan, coordinating with the artist's team and local institutions. 

Oct 2016, Timothy Taylor Gallery (UK) & West Bund Artfair (China) 
China-side project assistant for Alex Katz’s first solo exhibition Alex Katz: West Broadway and Spring in China and full-cycle support for the gallery's participation in West Bund Art & Design Fair.
